//ABOUT GAVIN
I fancy myself as a visionary and advocate for a radically different approach to business education. In addition to a B.S. in Operations Management, an M.B.A., and a Ph.D. in Marketing, I have a wealth of practical experience spanning real estate development, logistics as an officer in the U.S. Army, operations management consulting, and creative ventures as a musician, artist, and writer. My career has been a journey of both triumph and failure, shaping my belief that true learning cannot be confined to the rigid structures of university classrooms and a heavy focus on grades rather than mastery or innovation. Having served as a logistics officer in Iraq, co-founded multiple startups, and spent over a decade consulting for industry leaders, I've learned the value of hard work, adaptability, and resilience. My varied experiences—ranging from strategic decision-making in high-stakes environments to navigating the complexities of launching and scaling new businesses—have instilled in me a deep understanding of what works in the real world and what doesn’t. Frustrated by the outdated methods imposed by traditional academic philosophies, which prioritize bureaucracy and conformity over genuine learning and practical application, I've set out to create something different and unconstrained. YoProfX is the result of my passion for experimental and experiential applied business education, where students are encouraged to learn by doing and solving real-world problems, embracing failure as a learning tool, and thinking beyond the limits of traditional textbook and case-based knowledge. I'm on a mission to reshape the way business is taught, providing an alternative that focuses on real industry experience, innovation, and critical thinking. Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, a seasoned professional, or someone simply looking to break free from convention thinking, YoProfX is here to offer the kind of education that challenges the status quo and prepares you for success in the ever-evolving world of business. I'm not just about teaching business; I'm about living it every day.
